Twenty-three bollards line the taxi stand at Fusionopolis One. Every Chinese New Year, we give each one a hat and a coat. A crocheted amigurumi perched on top and a crocheted sleeve wrapped around the bollard itself. Twenty-three cheerful characters greeting people stepping out of a cab.
It began in 2020 as a one-off, and nearly stayed that way. Covid arrived and the bollards went bare the following year. We brought them back for Chinese New Year 2022, and they have gone up every year since.
The work happened the way it always does. Many hands making the pieces months before and the core team installing on site.
